I'm so excited to be sharing this day with you all. I've really put myself into this EP, and I hope it resonates with others. I really appreciate all the support I've gotten so far!
I’m very excited to playing at the Velvet Lounge in DC next week! Doors open at 7:30PM on Thursday, September 29th – be sure to mark your calendars to make it out!
I wanted to provide an update on what was going for me musically right now…
I recently had the cool experience of co-writing with another local DC Musician, Sarah Gilberg. It was a really fun experience! I met Sarah at a local gathering of female musicians where the whole group decided to pair up and writing a song on a topic. The overall theme for the entire group was “missing person”.
Playing with a guitar pedal is a huge step forward for me. I've always been a fan of a very "clean" guitar sound, so, by playing with pedals, I like to think I'm growing as an artist by opening my mind to new possibilities.
Every musician/band needs to find a niche sound that brands them. Some of that sound comes naturally – there is only so much you can do with your voice to change it, and the way each individual plays guitar is as unique as a fingerprint. There is a lot, however, that waits to be discovered.
I have a love/hate relationship with live performances.
What I love about them is that you get to feel the energy of the crowd. I love gauging the crowd’s reactions to my songs, and I love connecting with an audience. I love that performing enables you to meet other artists, who inspire you, and are inspiring in their own right. There are also some really cool venues that can inspire you too.
